About

For more than 20 years, GUC has been providing opportunity for local people to access all the benefits a university education brings, and, in the process providing the home grown professionals our community needs to thrive.  Over 600 graduates from nurses and teachers, to accountants, social workers and more have completed and had their qualification conferred by our University partners with the support provided by GUC.

As a community driven organisation, GUC’s purpose is steadfastly clear – we’re about enabling people in the Mid West to achieve a degree locally.

Our vision is that living regionally is no barrier to fulfilling aspiration. Everyone in our region should be able to complete the qualification they need or want with our support.

Between 250 and 300 local students are supported at GUC at any given time. That support differs depending on the demand for the course and the nature of the university partnership that we have in place.  You can study anything from anywhere at GUC, accessing our 24 hour study facilities to do so.

The cornerstone of the GUC experience however, is our fully supported courses where we provide face-to-face academic support as well as the caring guidance of our administrative and students services team.
