Social Work

With a focus on learning from contemporary social work scenarios and study from a range of areas including psychology, sociology and Indigenous studies, this program will make you a very well rounded graduate.

GUC supports CQUniversity’s Bachelor of Social Work program with a range of student supports, including facilitated study sessions with qualified social workers and, where student numbers allow, running first and second year intensive residential schools on campus.

Practical placements with local agencies are available in years 3 and 4 of the program in Geraldton.  Students travel to Queensland for residential schools in the lead up to each of these placements, so they are fully prepared for the professional experience.

Graduates of Central Regional TAFE’s Diploma in Counselling, Community Services or Youth Work receive credit from some of the first year units of this degree.
