To provide financial assistance to our students, the Geraldton Universities Centre’s Hollomby Foundation operates a scholarship program for those undertaking study at the GUC.
This scholarship program is competitive and open to students enrolled in a Geraldton Universities Centre (GUC) supported course or a supported distance education student, subject to a university partnership agreement with the GUC.
Mid West Ports Hollomby Foundation Travel BursaryThe Hollomby Foundation Travel Bursary is proudly sponsored by Mid West Ports, with $5,000 per annum provided to support GUC students who are required to travel for residential schools and clinical placements.
The $500 travel bursary is non-competitive and open to any student studying a mixed-mode course supported by the GUC who is required to travel interstate to a residential school, not otherwise offered at the GUC.
The $250 travel bursary is non-competitive and open to any student studying the GUC-supported USQ Bachelor of Nursing degree who is required to attend a mental health placement at Graylands Hospital.

The Hollomby Foundation provides discretionary scholarships to support students entering the UniSQ Bachelor of Nursing program supported by the GUC.
St John of God Geraldton Hospital Final Year RN Clinical Placement Scholarship
A $2,000 scholarship to support a 3rd nursing student undertaking their final year clinical placements.
St John of God Geraldton Hospital RN Scholarship
This $2,000 scholarship is for EN’s embarking on upskilling to a RN qualification
RSM Accounting Scholarship
This scholarship, valued at $1,000, is available to first-year students enrolled in a Bachelor of Accounting program at GUC.
Poligadu Family Scholarship Business and Accounting
This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a Business or Accounting student who demonstrates key core values of Ownership, Adaptability, Perseverance, and Integrity through regular tutorial attendance and high academic achievement.
29 Metals – Golden Grove $5,000 Excellence in Teaching Award
The award will support a 3rd year Bachelor of Education student who has achieved the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) for the academic year. The $ 5,000 prize is in recognition of academic excellence. It is aimed at assisting students with the financial burden incurred by the requirements to complete long-term practicum placements in the 4th year of their degree.
Hollomby Foundation Scholarships (Discretionary)
The Hollomby Foundation provides discretionary funding to support students studying degree courses offered at the GUC.
N.B. Scholarship amounts are discretionary and will be decided by the Scholarship panel, subject to need.

Ian Wheatland Founders Scholarship
Named in honour of Hollomby Foundation Founder Ian Wheatland, this $3,000 scholarship continues Ian’s legacy for the betterment of our community. It is open to all full-time GUC students.
GMA Garnet Group
This $2,000 scholarship recognises academic excellence and values community involvement and a commitment to one’s chosen field of study. It aligns with GMA Garnet’s commitment to education and supporting aspiring students.
Ron Shay Scholarship for Aboriginal Advancement
Central Earthmoving
Providing an annual Aboriginal scholarship to the value of $2,000. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to Aboriginal students studying through the GUC.
Mid West Development Commission
This $3,000 scholarship is for a high-achieving Geraldton school leaver who will commence a full-time undergraduate course at the GUC this year.
City of Greater Geraldton
Two $2,500 scholarships are offered to new or continuing students studying full-time at the GUC to help create a more vibrant city.

This scholarship, valued at $2,000, is open to new or continuing students at GUC.
Community Bank Geraldton – Community Scholarship
1 x $1,000 Scholarship aimed at new or continuing GUC students who best demonstrate their commitment to the Mid West
community.
Community Bank Geraldton Final Year Internship Scholarship
1 x $3,000 scholarship for an eligible applicant in their final year of study in fields such as Education, Social Work and Nursing, where students complete lengthy unpaid internships and professional practice placements in local schools and hospitals.
Community Bank Open Scholarship
1x $1,000 scholarship is designed to assist a student to study locally in a full-time undergraduate course at the GUC.
Melissa Price MP, Member for Durack
Equity Scholarship.
This $1,500 scholarship is designed to assist regional students who stay on the land and study locally in a full-time graduate course at the GUC.
Kirilee Warr MLA, Member for Geraldton
This scholarship, valued at $1,000 and open to students studying a course at the GUC, focuses on relieving financial hardship.
Hon Sandra Carr, Member for the Agricultural Region
This $1,000 scholarship will provide financial support to an individual who demonstrates commitment to contributing to their regional community and is experiencing financial hardship.
The Hon Julie Freeman MLC and Hon Rob Horstman MLC Scholarship.
This $1,000 entry-level scholarship is open to recent school leavers (under the age of 20) who gained entrance to a course supported at GUC either through an ATAR, STEPS or a TAFE Pathway.
Rotary Club of Batavia Coast
This $1,000 scholarship is open to any student commencing study at the GUC.
NB: With the support of the Hollomby Foundation, the successful recipient will be required to attend one Rotary meeting to share their story of choosing to pursue a higher education degree at the GUC.

With a focus on STEM, this $2,000 annual scholarship will assist with the financial costs of studying a university degree and support a student who shows dedication to their studies.
Australian Vanadium Rural Workforce Scholarships
With a focus on enhancing our rural workforce, Australian Vanadium is offering 2 x $1,500 scholarships to students undertaking a degree program supported by the GUC.
The Mitsui E&P and Beach Energy Scholarships
3 x $2,000 scholarships to provide financial assistance to students undertaking a degree program supported by the Geraldton Universities Centre who have demonstrated their commitment to the Mid West community, and to support these students to study locally, particularly in fields that require lengthy unpaid placements or internships in local workplaces
Curtin University
Up to $9,000 available for Curtin University students registered at GUC to support study in the Graduate Diploma of Education or any full time online Curtin University course.

The Tertiary Access Payment
The Tertiary Access Payment is a one off payment of up to $5,000. It’s to help eligible students with the cost of moving to study. This is for study after you’ve finished year 12 or equivalent.
